Optimalisasi Ekstraktor Madu Dengan Konsep Mesin Spinner Untuk Meningkatkan Produktivitas Madu Bagi Peternak Lebah

Honey is a sweet and viscous food substance produced by bees. Small-scale beekeepers in Indonesia still often extract honey using hydraulic methods, even though the process takes a long time, requires more labor, and increases the risk of damaging the beehive. Therefore, the aim of this study is to design and optimize a honey extractor spinner powered by an electric motor. The goal is to improve the efficiency of the honey harvesting process in a practical, fast, and hygienic way. The components used in designing and building this honey extractor include an electric motor, pulley, V-belt, frame, and capacitor. Based on the design results and a comparison with previous research on hydraulic honey extractors, it can be concluded that the spinner extractor significantly shortens the extraction time—by 163 seconds or 2.43 minutes—with a time efficiency improvement of 55.2% compared to the hydraulic extractor. Moreover, while the previous extractor had a maximum capacity of only 4 kg of honeycomb, the spinner extractor can accommodate approximately 10 kg.
