Abstract

This study aims to improve the productivity of wiring harness production for assembly number 3210A-K1AL-NB00-DL at the Teaching Factory of STT Texmaco Subang using a simulation approach with ProModel. The issues encountered include decreased productivity caused by bottlenecks, limited resources, and unbalanced workloads across workstations. The simulation model was developed based on actual production conditions and validated using a T-test. Two improvement scenarios were tested: (1) enhancing operator skills at Housing 1, and (2) merging the process of Housing 13 into Housing 12. The simulation results show that the first scenario increased productivity to 27.3 pcs/operator (a 7.91% improvement), while the second scenario yielded 29.58 pcs/operator (a 16.92% improvement). These improvements have an impact on labor efficiency, reduced lead time, lower production costs, increased profit margins, and enhanced production capacity without additional investment.
