Abstract

  1. Piranti Teknik Indonsia is a manufacturing company engaged in the assembly of wirng harness, with one its product being the assy 321-00-K1A-NB00. During june-Agust 2024 the product defect rate frequently exceeded the company’s tolerance of 1 piece per month. This study aims to identify the largest types and quantities of defects, analyze the main factors causing defects, and propose improvements to the production process. The methods used in this study include Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools such as check sheets, Pareto diagrams, cause-and-effect diagrams, and 5W1H analysis. The results show that the largest defect type is Minus Dimensional, contributing 26% of total defects. The primary causes include operators lacking understanding, raw materials not meeting specifications, and ineffective work methods. Proposed improvements include operator training, material sorting, and improvements in work method implementation. Implementing these recommendations is expected to significantly reduce product defect rates in the future.
