Abstract

Musculoskeletal complaints in an industry often receive insufficient attention from employers or owners. It is still common to find that employers or owners do not understand the risk factors of musculoskeletal complaints, which is why these complaints are often unrecognized. The Cornell Musculoskeletal Discomfort Questionnaire (CMDQ) is a mapping questionnaire used as a subjective measuring tool to assess body parts that experience discomfort, pain, or soreness while working. RULA is an effective method for assessing the risk level of activities dominated by body movements. From the results of the Cornell Musculoskeletal Discomfort Questionnaire (CMDQ) above, the highest complaints were found in the neck area, at 27%. The final score of 4 falls into the medium category for the setting process activity, and a final score of 3 falls into the medium category for the material installation and nameplate installation activities. This indicates that operators with such work postures require changes. Before the improvements, with a final score of 6, there was a recommendation to improve the jigboard, which was in the high-risk category. After the improvements, there was a reduction in the risk of complaints.
