Abstract

This research was conducted because in the operation of CNC machining it is very important to pay attention to the relationship between the material used, the Spindel power and the cutting parameters used which affect the quality of workmanship, work efficiency and the lifetime of the Spindel itself. The results of this research will then be used as one of the basic references in the design of desktop CNC machines. In this study the parameters used as a comparison of results are Manual Calculation and FEA which includes Von-Mises stress, Displacement, Safety factor. Deflection results of 6061 aluminium material. From the research taken with several cutting forces and cutting parameters. The largest sample was taken from the cutting force of Ft = 150.04 N on the Spindel motor shaft with a power of 0.8kW, 1.2kW, 2.2kW. The deflection was taken with Ap = 2mm and f = 0.05mm/tooth. From the calculation of deflection, it is found that the Cutting Force generated from the Cutting parameters used also cannot all be used in 3 (three) Spindel samples, there are limitations, namely from Depth of Cut or Ap 0.5mm, 1mm, 2mm and Wide of Cut or Ae 0.01mm, 0.02mm, 0.05mm
