Abstract

This research aims to develop an IoT-based automatic cat feeder to ensure that cats' dietary needs are met regularly. Regular feeding is crucial for maintaining cat health, as irregular eating patterns can make them susceptible to illnesses. The device uses an Arduino Wemos D1 as the main controller, a servo motor to operate the food container door, a load cell to detect the food weight, and an HX711 to amplify the signal from the load cell. The system is also equipped with the Blynk app for remote monitoring and control, allowing cat owners to feed their pets automatically without being at home.This research addresses questions on how to create an Arduino IDE program for the automatic cat feeder prototype and how to design and implement a monitoring system using an IoT-based Arduino Wemos D1. The device is installed on a container with a weight sensor underneath, designed exclusively for dispensing dry cat food, and operated and monitored via the Blynk app. The feeder is placed in a cat cage or an enclosed space when the owner is away and is set to dispense food three times a day.The benefits of this research include ensuring cats have a regular feeding schedule, enhancing the researcher's ability to design IoT devices, and providing a practical solution for busy cat owners. Data collection methods include literature review, consultation with supervisors, and experimentation and testing of the device.
